Again I’m returning from a break from the blog with a look at David’s Tent, an exciting music festival I’ve attended for the last few years. This year I had the privilege of being one of the official staff photographers for the event which gave me a lot of access in exchange for not much sleep!
Being on staff meant that I had to shoot everything on site to get a holistic view of the festival. Not just the big(ger) name acts but the camping and the food and the fire pit and the kids stuff. It all comes together to make an experience for the attendees that is more than just a single night of music.
In fact it is 3 days of music, played non-stop, 24/3. Once the music starts it doesn’t finish until it’s time to go home. As soon as one band finishes it is time for the next to start, all day & all night.
Teams of volunteers are organised in shifts to help festival attendees find their way, working 4-6 hours each day so they have plenty of time to enjoy themselves on & off the clock.
Each evening usually ends with a trip to the food vans to collect pizza, crepes, chips or even something healthier as people head towards the fire pit to gather. Chatting away, they socialise and warm themselves before making the walk from the main grounds through the woods and back to their tents in th camping field.
Below are some of the varied faces you’ll find of the people who head to David’s Tent each year.
Finally, we come to the music. Artists featured in these photos include: Danny O’Callaghan, Lucy Grimble, Tim Hughes, Sean Feucht, Amanda Cook, Steffany Gretzinger, Jonathan & Melissa Helser and United Pursuit.
